Pongal Greetings: Pongal Greetings: Thai Pongal (தை பொங்கல்) or Pongal (பொங்கல்) is one of the most popular thanksgiving or Harvest festival of South India, mainly celebrated at the end harvest season by the Tamilians in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, the Indian Union Territory of Pondicherry and Sri Lanka. Thai Pongal, is timed by an astronomical event - the winter solstice.
