The non-profit Sanctuary Nature Foundation, which publishes wildlife and photography magazine Sanctuary Asia, presented the Sanctuary Wildlife Photography Awards at a virtual ceremony on Saturday. The first prize went to photographer Pratik Uday Pradhan for capturing a crane fly on a thin twig in Matheran, a hill station near Mumbai. Photographers Sitaram Dinkar Raul and Mousam Ray shared the second prize. While Raul captured a fruit bat framed by a ring of leaves in Maharashtra's Badlapur, Ray took a picture of a crimson sunbird in the petal of a banana flower in West Bengal's Coochbehar city. The third prize went to Priyanka Rahut Mitra for managing to capture a picture of a leopard preying on a giant squirrel in Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka.

Osborne Macharia is a creative portrait photographer from Nairobi, Kenya. Osborne Macharia is a self-taught photographer who enjoys capturing surreal portrait photos of people from Kenya. These lovely animal watercolor paintings were created by Ukraine based artist Jonna Hyttinen. She understands nature very well and feels the need to preserve all wild animals. According to her, animals are always requesting us to protect the nature, so the natural resources can be enjoyed for many generations. The merging of nature through the animals is a fascinating way to portray her thoughts. We can see flowers breaking through the body of of the beloved animals. A wolf howls at the moon, but the moon breaks out and leaks blue liquid. Her watercolor paintings portray a lot of pain and anguish, which is equally felt by the viewers.
